When the weather finally breaks 70 I start whipping up all soups and stews multiple times a week. I don’t know where we got the perception that you can only have soups and stews when it’s cold outside, but for some reason we feel like its the most appropriate time for these comfort wonders.
I’ve put together a list of my favorite soups and stews you and your family will enjoy this winter season. I’ve made every single one of the recipes shared and can vouch for their yumminess!
- Chili
- Butternut Squash Soup
- Potato Soup– this yummy recipe from Gimme Some Oven is easy, delicious, and hits the spot. I cooked mine in the bacon grease and it was worth every single calorie! I recommend topping with green onions to give it the over the top flavor.
- Carrot Soup
- Tortellini Soup
- Broccoli Cheese Soup– this recipe from Cincy Shopper does taste just like the one you get at Panera. Instead of messing with the bread bowls, I get sourdough bread the kids can dip on the side.
- French Onion Soup– seriously AMAZING!! I double this recipe every time and I also add a little more beef broth otherwise it is perfect as is.
- Pizza Soup– need I say more!? You’re combining everyone’s favorite pizza with soup.
- Cheeseburger Soup
- Pasta e Fagioli
- Corn Chowder
- Clam Chowder
- Vegetable Soup
- Chicken Soup
- Chicken Fajita Soup
Up your soup game today with these recipes. (More recipes will be added as I get them loaded).
P.S. I don’t think it needs to be cold in order to enjoy these delicious meals.
