Being a mom of 3 littles means I never have time for me. I wake up in the morning and immediately I’m catering to their needs. Brushing my teeth is about the only thing I get to accomplish before rushing out to take my oldest to school. This means makeup, hair and wardrobe are typically a hot mess!
I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve sat in the drop off line waiting and hoping that my sunglasses cover up everything that’s going on, or lack thereof, underneath. I’m always throwing up my hair in a quick not-so-cute, just rolled out of bed bun. So, I’m always in favor of finding quick and easy ways to help me look more “put together”.
I’ve never been one to wear lipstick…heck I rarely wear makeup except for your eye basics (eyeliner and mascara). When I first heard about LipSense, I immediately thought “nope not for me”. I wish I looked like snow white with the pretty red lips, but instead I look like a clown straight out of the crazy house.
I gave in and tried a few…that’s when I became hooked! Not only do I look normal, but it doesn’t smear when I kiss my littles or drink my much-needed coffee and it lasts all day! Okay I’ll be honest; it lasts longer than that. I have woken up a time or two with it still on my lips from the day before. I like to call this being economically savvy (wink).
I had already invested in a dark color great for my date nights out with the hubby or even friends when I wanted that sexy look, but I was looking for something I could slap on in the morning before school and still wear into the night. Can I just say I LOVE IT! I started out the morning running after the littles with hair from the day before, mascara and this color (Bravo) with a pearl gloss. It looked natural but refreshing. It looked like the girl next door, I just woke up like this look. I need more of that in my life! Not only did I look good, but I felt even better. Something about pretty lips makes you feel like a million bucks…do you not agree? My confidence is way higher, not that it needs to be, and my attitude was more pleasant. Win Win!
I loved it even more that night. I was going out with the family for my sister’s birthday celebration. For the night time, I added another coat to make the color more dramatic and finished it off with the bougainvillea gloss. This added a darker layer of pink. Again, it was perfect because I didn’t feel like I was wearing something too upscale for a girl’s night of crafting and dinner, yet looked like I put effort into getting ready. This is definitely a color I will be going back to time and time again.
Side note- ignore my baby hairs flying all over the place. Having three children ruined my body but that’s for another day and another post.
