Disney World has its fair share of new additions coming in the next few years. Some of them, like the ones in 2021, have us super excited for the future of its parks.
2018
Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be opening Toy Story Land this summer; rumor is Memorial Day Weekend. The new land will include two new rides: Slinky Dog roller coaster and Alien Swirling Saucers.
2019
Jungle Cruise is rumored to open it’s new reinvented adventure the beginning of the year which will have a complete overhaul with the help of Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson.
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will open in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Exact date TBD.
Skyliner, the new gondola transportation system will be up and running prior to Star Wars Land opening. This new system will take guests from the beach resorts, Pop Century and the Art of Animation resorts to the gates of Epcot and Hollywood Studios.
Star Wars Hotel has been announced to open sometime during this year. Official date hasn’t been released yet. Our guess is it will open with Star Wars Land or very shortly after.
Star Wars Land: Galaxy’s Edge will open as one of the largest expansions done in all the parks. Opening date hasn’t been released yet but we know it will open after Disneyland’s Star Wars Land has its debut. Our guess is Disney World will open theirs in late summer to mid Fall.
Disney Riviera Resort opening in the fall. The new Gondolas will make a stop at this new luxurious resort.
2021
Walt Disney World will celebrate it’s 50th anniversary. If it’s anything like Disneyland’s 60th then it will be nothing short of amazing.
The famous Tron ride from Disney Shanghai will be joining Magic Kingdom which can we say FINALLY.
Epcot will be indulging in an expansion including multiple new rides. Ratatouille, currently found in Disneyland Paris, will be one to join the ranks. It will allow riders the chance to put themselves in a mouse’s shoes by becoming small in this 4-D adventure. There will also be an addition of Guardians of the Galaxy that will bring us one of the longest enclosed roller coasters in the world. These updates will all be a part of Epcot’s Future World area.
