Disneyland was the first park Walt introduced to the world allowing us all experience the magic of Disney daily. To this day the magic only gets better and better. Looking forward to the future of Disneyland makes me super excited. Most of it has been confirmed but some of it is still speculation; speculation we hope is completely true just like the speculation of the Tower of Terror transformation.
2018
Downtown Disney had some amazing additions already this year. Black Tap Craft Burgers and Beers debuted it’s new sky-high milkshake. Splitsville, a new bowling alley with live music and food opened it’s doors, and Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire allowed guests to experience a virtual reality like no other.
April 13th is the beginning of Pixar Fest. This includes limited time merchandise, meet n’ greets and the new nighttime parade “Together Forever” (Disneyland Park) along with a revamp of “Paint the Night Parade” (Disney California Adventure) to feature more Pixar characters. The “Pixar Play Parade” will also be moving over to Disneyland Park and will feature characters from “Up” and “Inside Out” for the first time. Be sure to see it before it ends on Sept 3rd.
May 3rd will be the only night you can experience Star Wars Nite: a separate ticket is needed for this event. Like Mickey’s Halloween Party general admission guests will be kicked out of the park (Disneyland Park) at 9pm and only those with the separate ticket will be allowed to stay. This is something teens to adults can enjoy; it’s a long night ending at 1am so keep that in mind for youngsters. Special events include first ever Meet n Greet with Rey, Hyperspace Mountain, special lanyard included with ticket, free photopass along with lots of special entertainment and meet n greets around the park. Tickets go on sale March 27th.
Cove Bar will be closing in May to allow time for it’s transformation to Lamplight Lounge which will be opening June 23rd. Make sure you experience the Cove Bar before it’s gone; try the lobster nachos you’ll thank us later.
Pixar Pier will welcome guests for the first time ever on June 23rd. The pier will include a transformation of California Screamin’ to the Incredicoaster. The Paradise Pier Ice cream Co. will become Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats along with a couple other eaterie changes. Pixar will be everywhere you look! King Triton’s Carousel (a fav of my littlest) will be changed to “Jessie’s Critter Carousel”. During these transformations many shops, California Screaming, the Carousel and Ariel’s Grotto will be closed.
We are super sad to see A Bug’s Life close completely late this summer (our guess is end of July). The area will be used in the Marvel Land creation that will be opening in 2020. Make sure to check out A Bug’s Life area before it’s too late! It’s the best spot for your littler ones.
Rumor has it Disney California Adventure will be increasing it’s Halloween festivities due to the outpouring of love last years first ever Haul-O-Ween in Cars Land got. This may be something you want to be the first to experience. Mickey’s Halloween Party so far has been my favorite time to go to Disney and I wouldn’t be surprised if Disney’s California Adventure incorporates their own special Halloween Party event ticket.
2019
Star Wars Land will open it’s doors to it’s first riders in 2019 including A Star Destroyer and Millennium Falcon ride
2020
Marvel Land will officially open it’s doors. Details haven’t been officially announced but rumors are there will be a Captain America roller coaster, Spider-Man and the Avengers will have an attraction presence, and somehow Black Panther and Doctor Strange will be incorporated into the land. My guess is we will hear more solidified information at the next D23 conference in 2019.
New announcements and information will be added as they are retrieved.
