Rice Krispies are a favorite in our house. They’re easy, cheap, and oh so delicious.
I typically make Rice Krispies with sprinkles according to the upcoming holiday but this time I wanted to be a little more festive. I planned on piping icing on each one to detail the cut outs but who’s got time for that.
I’ll be completely honest, it took me 3 days total to make this batch. Between kids and my busy schedule I had to do each step and then walk away til the next day. That’s the best part about these, you cannot mess them up. So, instead of adding more time to the decorating of these Rice Krispies I decided to do the marbled icing look.
Marbling your icing is super easy. I simply used Pillsbury’s vanilla icing and warmed it in the microwave for 20 seconds. Once warmed I mixed it up and then added my color in a couple drops of each color as a time. Use a toothpick to swirl the colors clockwise, counterclockwise, right, left, up and then down. You don’t want to keep mixing it one way or else the colors will just blend together. Once you’ve got a nice swirl of colors simply dip in the Rice Krispie and then slowly pull it out.
Of course I couldn’t finish them off without some sprinkles. How pretty are these!? They’re perfect for Easter or even just for spring. I’m thinking these would be cute to send to my son’s teachers with a little gift card on teacher appreciate day.
